Here are some Texas bird photos I took recently on a trip to Texas for a Reliv conference. I had a couple of extra days to head south to the coast to capture whooping cranes, pink spoonbills, pelicans, blue huron, white ibis, mocking bird, gulls and other birds. I am most proud of the whooping crane images as there are only about 300 of these birds left alive. It was so exciting to see them ought alone photograph them.
During a trip to Haines AK and back last fall we seen 19 grizzly bears. Here are just a few of the images we captured. I was amazed at seeing that many bears. I have driven the AK Highway up and back 7 times and only seen one grizzly bear during all of those trips. Last fall was the exception. What a great trip.
As a wildlife photographer you get to see a lot of neat sunrises. I was hoping for some elk on this ridge for a great shot but no elk so settled for this lone tree. The sky was so beautiful and the color lasted a long time. Maybe next time a big bull elk or two will be on that ridge.
